Bullying
Bullying is reported to affect many young people. Bullying can mean many different things, including deliberately being nasty, threatening someone or being violent towards someone that cannot defend themselves.
There are said to be many different types of bullying. They fall into three categories; they can be physical, verbal and psychological.
Physical bullying involves touching another individual in a certain way, this may be by kicking, punching, hitting, spitting or beating someone up. For example, at school, bullies regularly take peoples lunch money or even their books. The second type of bullying is said to be Verbal bullying, this means saying horrible things to other people. This could be calling other people horrible names, taunting, making another person look stupid and mimicking. Some bullies may use this form of bullying on people who look different from them. For example they may bully someone that is of another ethnic origin or of different colour skin type. The third type of bullying is psychological bullying; this may mean targeting on someone without saying anything to them or without touching them in any manner. In this case, the bully hurts the victim by ignoring them completely, giving them horrible looks, spreading rumours about them to other people, hiding their possessions, stalking them or possibly by sending them nasty letters. Suffering from bullying is an unpleasant experience and one will know if it is happening to them. For example if someone pushes around another person every break time in school, the person is evidently bullying the other. Many bullies attempt to cover up their behaviour when another person challenges them about it. Bullying behaviour is believed to be a type of aggression. Bullies usually try to prove that they are bigger and superior than the people they target. They want their victims to be frightened of them. They also want other individuals to look up to them.

Bullying does not just take place during school; many adults are also subject to bullying. The elderly are targeted; people of other ethnic origin have been targeted by bullying in the streets. People that are subject to bullying may feel alone, unhappy, lose their self confidence, feel miserably and have difficulties in concentrating. Reported reasons to why people become bullies
Bullies like to feel powerful. On many occasions bullies may be jealous of other individuals, and they use bullying as a way of getting to them. Bullies tend to pick on individuals, if they feel they will get away with it. The bullies look for situations which will allow them to do this. Many individuals have fixed ideas about what bullies are like. Many bullies in school may be copying their parents because parents have been known to bully their children frequently. Many people bully other individuals because they think it will make them look important in front of other individuals. It is commonly known that many people who are being bullied will bully other people. This in a way is known as 'Chain Bullying.' Many people are known to bully younger brothers or sisters because they may feel helpless in different scenarios, where they believe they do not have any power. Most bullying tends to commence during nursery school and continues through to primary and secondary school. Boys are reported to usually go for violent types of bullying whereas girls tend to use psychological or verbal bullying. Many bullies think they have to act forceful in order to achieve what they want. They also enjoy seeing other individuals feeling as bad and helpless as themselves. Many individuals lie about being bullied. Many victims often blame themselves and often believe that they deserve to be subject to bullying. No individual should have to put up with feeling lonely and guilty in this way. Many bullies frequently use force to frighten other people in to doing what they want them to do. Other bullies use other methods. All bullies rely on people not reporting on them.
