Stop Bullying

Asking for help after being subjected to bullying
If one is being bullied, they should tell either their parents or an adult whom they can trust. If one feels like they cannot talk to another individual, they have been advised to call a helpline, and talk to them about what is best to do in combating the whole situation. One should not be afraid of telling teachers or parents about the situation, because the teachers and parents know that this may cause more trouble for the victim. Teachers and parents will not like to see the victim being hurt anymore, so they will not say anything to the bully if the victim does not want them to do so. The individual that is being subjected to bullying may feel better about themselves once they have told another person. If the victim keeps the problem to themselves it is considered an unadvisable thing to do. If the teacher speaks to the bully, the bullying may stop and the victim's life may become better as a result of this. If the victim does nothing to stop the bullying from occurring, the bully may have scored a bigger victory over the victim, and he or she will probably escape without being punished.

Ways in which adults are believed to deal with bullying.
The vast majority of adults know that bullying is wrong, and they do realise that it is difficult to tell another individual the truth about being subjected to bullying. The adults also know how vital it is to try and protect the individual who is being subjected to bullying. It has been said that bullies must be guided to understand the effect of their bad behaviour on other people, and how it makes other individuals feel. Adults usually will attempt to find the reason why an individual is bullying. They will also want the bullies to think of better ways to handle their feelings. The adult will attempt to help the bully understand that, although they like him or her as an individual, they cannot tolerate the bullying carrying on. Everyone has the right to enjoy life without being threatened or made to feel very poor in general. Every individual needs to feel both cared for and protected.

Racist Bullying
Bullies commonly pick on individuals because they are different in some way in comparison to themselves. It may be in the form of the clothes they wear or the neighbourhood they have grew up in. Bullies use a variety of tactics to hurt other people's feelings. Some people may be singled out because they may wear glasses for example. Bullying another person because of being a different skin colour type is a common way of bullying. Some individuals believe they are superior to other people, because they are from a different race or culture. Racist bullies will probably refuse to get to know the individual they are bullying, and will probably only focus on the differences they believe exist between the two of them.
